Aims & Visions

Llanrumney is a community high school which provides education for pupils aged 11-16.  Our mission statement is ‘Educating for Life’.  During the time that pupils are with us they acquire key skills along with all the other dimensions of education such as moral, spiritual and cultural development.  An awareness that education is a life long process is strongly encouraged.

The School Improvement Plan should be based upon the school’s aims and upon the targets which underpin those aims.

The aims have been agreed as:
1. To help equip pupils with the values, attitudes and skills needed for success in life.
2. To achieve the highest possible levels of teaching and learning.
3. To provide a secure, well-ordered environment of mutual respect and trust.
4. To value everyone – all pupils and staff – so that they reach their full potential.
5. To develop and foster home/school liaison and positive links with the wider community.

These are expressed in terms of:
1. Standards of achievement.
2. Teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment.
3. Management.
4. Staffing, resources and premises.
